Job summary

Behavioral Health Network, Inc. is seeking an Addiction Specialist to join the PACT Forensic team in Western Massachusetts.

The role provides community-based services, including therapy, medication administration, and care coordination, to help individuals achieve healthier, more independent lives. The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree (CADCH preferred) and at least six months of human services experience, with a strong emphasis on communication and client empowerment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or CADCH required.
  • Minimum six months’ experience in human services preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required for all working hours.

Responsibilities

  • Provides community-based services within the PACT Forensic model of care.
  • Carries out Substance Use Evaluations with Recovery Plans and recommendations.
  • Maintains client ADL support and treatment coordination.
  • Ensures positive outcomes on the PACT outcome measures.
  • Performs risk/crisis evaluations and takes safety actions as needed.
  • Works in diverse settings including client homes and hospitals.
  • Maintains licensure/certification and completes clinical education hours.
  • Engages family, community, and residential providers in treatment.
  • Connects clients to resources like AA, NA, Detox, and methadone/suboxone programs.

Job description

Pay or shift range: $54,000 USD to $56,000 USD. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.

Monday 12 pm -8 pm

Wednesday 8 am -4 pm

What You Will Do

The Addiction Specialist provides community-based services within the PACT Forensic model of care which includes services including therapy, medication administration, assistance with Activities of Daily Living, and care coordination.

  • Provides comprehensive Substance Use Evaluations with Recovery Plans and recommendations based on sound judgement.
  • Includes all pertinent family members, community, and residential providers in treatment, as appropriate.
  • Maintains direct service productivity as established by the Program.
  • Ensures assigned individuals make positive change on the outcome measure used by the PACT Model.
  • Provides comprehensive risk/crisis evaluations and takes appropriate actions to keep individuals served and others safe.
  • Maintains flexibility in providing services in settings such as client homes, hospitals, and other community settings.
  • Maintains professional licensure/certification and completes the required amount of clinical education hours.
  • Assists and monitors activities of Daily Living (ADL).
  • Encourages independence, competency, and decision-making.
  • Initiates, supports, and ensures quality of life through empowerment, safety awareness, respect, and dignity.
  • Provides outreach services to individuals served on a frequent basis as required by supervisor.
  • Acts as primary implementer of strategies to meet Treatment Plan goals.
  • Provides assessment and treatment of individuals with substance abuse/dependence.
  • Facilitates dual recovery groups to individuals served.
  • Connects individuals served to resources including AA, NA, Detox, and methadone/suboxone treatment.
  • Acts as liaison and consults with community agencies and families to maintain coordination in the treatment process.
Who You Are
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or CADCH required.
  • Minimum of six months’ experience in human services preferred.
  • Commitment to empowerment and growth, human rights, and community integration of individuals served.
  • Demonstrates willingness and ability to treat challenging and diverse client populations, including a forensic population.
  • Demonstrates cultural competence in supporting clients with a variety of different cultural backgrounds.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of community resources, and how to help clients access them.
  • Demonstrates willingness to work with individuals who are forensically involved within the Sequential Intercept model.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle available for all working hours to transport individuals served required.
