Job summary

Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital is seeking an Addiction Recovery Program Insurance Coordinator & Resource Specialist to support admissions, insurance authorizations, and care transitions for patients in the ASAM Level 4 ATS unit and ED. You will work with an MD, social workers, and a recovery coach to streamline intake, resource placement, and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Two to three years of mental health care experience, especially in substance use disorders.
• Strong communication, collaboration, advocacy, organization and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently, multitask, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the ATS phone line and respond to admission inquiries.
• Coordinate with the emergency department for ATS admissions and verify insurance coverage.
• Complete substance use intakes and present cases for clinical review.
• Obtain prior authorizations for stays and coordinate admissions/transfers.
• Document all care-coordination communications in the EMR.
• Collaborate with clinicians, payors, facilities and community resources for discharge planning and aftercare.
