Job summary

Mercy Care Atlanta is seeking an Addiction Psychiatrist to deliver trauma‑informed outpatient psychiatric care and MAT for underserved populations. You will work with primary care and behavioral health teams in an integrated care setting, providing supervision to nurse practitioners and leading initiatives across outpatient programs.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, program leadership, and community outreach, with a focus on patients with co‑occurring disorders and income-related barriers

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry (ABPN).
• Unrestricted Georgia medical license or eligibility.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Psychiatry Residency Program.
• MAT certification or experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management for adults.
• Deliver trauma-informed care to individuals with mental illness and substance use disorders.
• Manage Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) including buprenorphine and naltrexone.
• Collaborate with primary care and behavioral health teams in an integrated setting.
• Provide clinical guidance to psychiatric and primary care nurse practitioners.
• Support outpatient behavioral health and SUD programs through leadership and oversight.
• Participate in community outreach and health events.
