Urban Health Plan in the Bronx, NY, seeks an Addiction Psychiatrist to join an outpatient behavioral health team and serve as core faculty for a newly accredited residency program launching July 2026. The role emphasizes medication-assisted treatment for SUD and co-occurring disorders, with teaching responsibilities for psychiatry residents and learners.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical School.
• Completion of approved residency in Psychiatry.
• Fellowship or additional certification in Addiction Psychiatry or Addiction Medicine.
• Valid NYS and DEA License.
• At least 1 year experience in a mental health setting, outpatient clinic or hospital.
• Bilingual, English/Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and treatment planning.
• Provide MAT and psychiatric care to individuals with SUD.
• Collaborate with primary care and behavioral health teams using an integrated care approach.
• Participate in case conferences, peer reviews, and interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Teach and mentor psychiatry residents and trainees.
• Contribute to addiction curriculum design.
• Document all patient care in the EHR in a timely and compliant manner.
• Provide consultation and support to primary care providers and behavioral health staff.
• Maintain current knowledge of best practices, evidence-based treatment, and regulatory requirements.
