Job summary

Mercy Care Atlanta seeks a compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join the Chamblee Clinic. Provide high-quality, trauma-informed psychiatric care to underserved populations within our FQHC.

Diagnose, treat, and manage medications while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team. You will address behavioral health needs considering social determinants of health, as part of a mission-driven program in Atlanta.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree from an accredited nursing program.
• Board Certification as PMHNP or CNS, or Psychiatric NP with psychiatric experience.
• Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner licensure in the State of Georgia.
• Minimum one year of clinical experience working with individuals experiencing mental illness and substance use disorders preferred.
• Experience in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment preferred.
• Knowledge of Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) and buprenorphine treatment is a plus.
• Bilingual Spanish/English skills strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Provide psychiatric medication management and ongoing follow-up care.
• Deliver trauma-informed, evidence-based behavioral health services.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists through APRN Protocol Agreements.
• Work closely with primary care providers, therapists, social workers, and care teams in an integrated care model.
• Support patients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
• Participate in community outreach events and health fairs 3–4 times annually.
• Promote equitable healthcare access and positive patient outcomes.

Education

Master’s Degree from an accredited nursing program

Board Certification as PMHNP or CNS, or Psychiatric NP experience

Current GA Nurse Practitioner licensure

1 year clinical experience with mental illness & substance use disorders

Experience in multidisciplinary healthcare environment

Knowledge of MAT and buprenorphine treatment

Bilingual Spanish/English skills
