Job summary

Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital is seeking a part-time Addiction Medicine Nurse Practitioner to join the Addiction Consult Team. The NP provides psychiatric assessments, develops comprehensive care plans for patients with substance use disorders, and may supervise learners.

Eligible candidates hold a Master’s in Nursing, Massachusetts APRN license, and at least 2 years of psychiatric NP experience; CARN-NP or willingness to obtain within 18 months.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in nursing required.
• Massachusetts APRN license required.
• CARN-NP or willing to obtain within 18 months of employment.
• Experience in psychiatric nursing practice preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to psychiatric patients.
• Completes biopsychosocial and psychopharmalogical evaluations on patients.
• Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
• Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
