Job summary

Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital is seeking an Addiction Medicine SUD Nurse Practitioner to join the Addiction Consult Team. The position supports psychiatric assessments and comprehensive care plans for patients with substance use disorders, working within a multidisciplinary team.

Schedule is 9-6 with four 10-hour shifts, no weekends or holidays, onsite at Jamaica Plain. Requires a Master's in Nursing and at least 2 years as a psychiatric NP with CARN-NP or willingness to obtain within 18

Qualifications

• Master's Degree Nursing required.
• 2 years of experience as a psychiatric nurse practitioner.
• CARN-NP or willingness to obtain it within 18 months of employment.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to psychiatric patients.
• Complete biopsychosocial and psychopharmacological evaluations on patients.
• Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on diagnostic findings.
• Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational policies.
• Consistently provides high-quality and timely documentation, including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, and discharge summaries.
• Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.
