Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join the Addiction Consult Team at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital in Jamaica Plain. The NP will conduct psychiatric assessments, develop comprehensive care plans, and provide medication management for patients with substance use disorders.

The role involves a 9-6 schedule with four 10-hour shifts and no weekends. Collaboration with physicians, social workers, and recovery coaches is expected to support inpatient

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing required.
• Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure required.
• 2 years of experience as a psychiatric nurse practitioner.
• CARN-NP certification or willingness to obtain within 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care, counseling, and teaching to psychiatric patients.
• Perform biopsychosocial and psychopharmacological evaluations.
• Take complete histories and physical examinations.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Develop care plans and follow-up based on findings.
• Order medications and write prescriptions per policy.
• Maintain high-quality documentation including notes and discharge summaries.
• Provide expert clinical care to patients with substance use disorder on the hospital Addiction Consult Team.
• Support addiction consultation in hospital and ED with rapid assessment and treatment planning.
• Collaborate with physicians, social workers, and recovery coaches.
