Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required or better.
• Counselor-in-training certification (CCIT) or higher.
• Addiction counselor certifications (CAC I/II, CMAC, CAADC, CADC-T) preferred.
• Counselor III requires Master’s degree or higher and relevant licensure.

Responsibilities

• Ensure completion of patient databases, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries and other documentation per federal/state standards.
• Provide orientation to patients about program objectives, phase requirements, rules, sanctions, and service hours.
• Assess and place patients according to treatment phases per policies.
• Maintain clinical documentation and patient charts per policies.
• Counsel patients in crisis and assist with resources and coping strategies.
• Arrange referrals to community resources when appropriate.
• Participate in case conferences and reviews.
• Develop knowledge of confidentiality, methadone treatment, and counseling certifications.
• Submit and route internal/external correspondence for review.

CACI (Certified Addiction Counselor Level I)

CMAC (Certified Master Addiction Counselor)
