Job summary

General Motors is pioneering autonomous vehicle technology within its AV Software Organization. We are seeking an early‑career verification engineer to help define and optimize tests for the AV/ADAS platform, ensuring safety and reliability across Linux/QNX environments.

The role emphasizes collaboration with multiple teams and state‑of‑the‑art test frameworks. The position targets new graduates who recently completed or will complete their degree by August 2026, with a hybrid work model at GM

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in a technical field (CS/CE/EE).
• Proficiency in Python or C and exposure to testing concepts.
• Familiarity with Linux development environments and vehicle networks.

Responsibilities

• Support design, implementation, and execution of software verification for AV/ADAS platforms in HIL/SIL/VIL environments.
• Run, monitor, and analyze tests and diagnostics across full-vehicle perspective; aid triage of issues.
• Help build and maintain test environments and automation to improve coverage and speed.
• Ensure tests align with safety standards (ISO 26262, SOTIF, FMVSS) and track metrics.
• Collaborate with software, application, and hardware teams to reproduce issues and gather logs.
• Participate in failure analysis (FMEA, root-cause) and document findings clearly.
• Contribute to test case and tooling improvements through feedback from seniors.
