Job summary

General Motors is seeking an accomplished Staff Software Engineer for AV HIL Software Platforms. The role focuses on developing high-fidelity hardware-in-loop validation for AV software, collaborating with multiple AV teams to ensure reliability and scalable testing platforms.

You will lead software and hardware integration, drive architecture, and mentor engineers, contributing to platform governance and strategic roadmaps.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience designing, developing, and delivering production-quality software systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field; Master’s or PhD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the long-term technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap for AV HIL software platforms and integration services.
• Lead the design and evolution of scalable, reliable, observable, hardware-aware HIL capabilities for AV software validation.
• Establish architectural direction and standards for platform services, APIs, reliability, and testing.
• Own complex technical problems spanning AV software, AI models, hardware, and deployment pipelines.
• Mentor engineers and influence cross-team technical direction.
