Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Software Test Engineer – Virtualization to join the ADAS DRIVE organization. You will develop and validate SIL environments for ADAS testing, build initial test scenarios, and drive efficiency through automation.

The role requires expertise in Python/MATLAB/C/C++, strong communication, and collaboration with simulation teams to enable early testing and reduce dependence on hardware benches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Math, or related technical field.
• 5+ years of engineering experience related to software testing, simulation of embedded systems or control systems.
• Fundamental understanding of active safety/ADAS concepts, vehicle dynamics, or automated driving technology.
• Basic experience with programming or scripting (Python, MATLAB, C/C++).
• Strong ability to work with computer-based simulation tools to run tests and analyze data.
• High level of oral and written communication skills and the ability to clearly document work.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new tools quickly, handle multiple tasks and follow through on deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Support capability development and configuration of SIL environments for ADAS features.
• Create scenarios and test execution to evaluate virtual environment readiness for testing/validation.
• Evaluate requests to add/update ADAS software, vECUs, models in SIL configurations.
• Provide requirements to Simulation Tools and Infrastructure teams to update SIL capabilities.
• Support automation of test cases following established procedures.
