Job summary

The role includes 1:1 or small group tutoring, data recording, and collaboration with teachers. Some tasks may involve Braille transcription and medical duties under supervision, with CPR/First Aid training and fingerprint clearance required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Current CPR/AED/First Aid Certification.
• Fingerprint Clearance.
• Any equivalent combination of training, education and experience that meets minimum requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides a safe and supportive environment so students with special needs may fully access their education.
• Accompanies and assists students throughout the school day as necessitated by the IEP.
• Provides tutoring/remediation, 1:1 or in small group settings under the direction of a certified teacher.
• May transcribe instructional materials into Braille as needed.
• Assists and trains students in self-care activities as needed.
• Performs medical tasks under supervision, including CPR/First Aid as assigned.
• Maintains required records and files, and performs Medicaid billings.
• Performs administrative duties such as typing, filing, data entry.
• Schedules meetings and contacts parents for IEP/CST/MET.
• Assists with group instruction and behavior monitoring as directed.
