Job summary

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs in California seeks an Adaptive Physical Educator to join our award‑winning Special Education team. The role focuses on implementing IEP/ITP services, delivering on‑site and community‑based instruction, and supporting transitions within the least restrictive environment.

You will develop schedules aligned to student goals, participate in IEP meetings, and maintain detailed progress data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Education or related field.
• Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining an adaptive physical educator (APE) credential.
• Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a special education instruction credential preferred.
• Valid CA state driver's license.
• Ability to obtain and maintain crisis management training certification.
• Experience with adaptive physical education services and IEPs/IEPs.

Responsibilities

• Implement services per student IEP/ITP and meet weekly minutes.
• Develop standards-aligned, evidence-based curriculum and instruction.
• Develop individualized schedules addressing IEP/ITP goals.
• Collaborate with supervisor and teams on progress and transitions.
• Record data, prepare IEPs/ITPs and Progress Reports.
