Job summary

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs, a division of ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education, seeks an Adaptive Physical Educator to deliver IEP-aligned PE services for students in grades K-12. You will implement evidence-based curricula, track progress with data, and collaborate with the special education team to support individualized goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in education or closely related field.
• Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining an adaptive physical educator (APE) credential.
• Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a special education instruction credential preferred.
• Hold current CA driver's license or ability to obtain one.
• Ability to obtain and maintain certified crisis management training.
• Experience with adaptive physical education services and compliance, IEP/IFSP processes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver designated adaptive physical education services aligned to each learner's IEP/ITP.
• Develop and implement standards-aligned, evidence-based curriculum for on-site and community-based instruction.
• Create individualized schedules addressing each student’s IEP/ITP goals.
• Record progress and report data to supervisors, families, and district representatives.
• Assist and mentor classroom staff, model best practices, and support inclusion.
• Participate in IEP meetings and present goals using data-based evidence.
