Job summary

Total Education Solutions (TES) in California is seeking an Adapted Physical Education Teacher to support students with disabilities in a hybrid model, delivering in-person and virtual services.

You will plan and deliver adapted physical education, maintain records, communicate progress to families and school staff, and ensure IDEA compliance.

Qualifications

• Valid California PE credential with Adapted Education authorization or CBEST with eligibility for a waiver from CTC.
• Pass background checks (FBI and DOJ).
• Current TB test.

Responsibilities

• maintain student records and communicate progress to parents/guardians, general education teachers, administration, district personnel, and other service professionals via progress reporting and IEPs.
• ensure ongoing compliance with IDEA.
• create and instruct adapted physical education lessons to improve fitness, motor skills, and game performance.
• prepare lessons in alignment with IEPs.
• adapt instruction to meet diverse student needs.
• provide positive feedback and foster appreciation for physical education.
• establish a safe, orderly environment and manage PE inventory.
