Qualifications

• Valid California credential in Physical Education with Adapted Education authorization or active CBEST with waiver eligibility.
• Valid driver’s license with auto insurance sufficient for work use (25/50k liability).
• Clear FBI/DOJ background check and a current TB test.

Responsibilities

• Maintain student records and communicate progress to parents/guardians, general education teachers, and school staff via progress reports and IEPs.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with IDEA requirements.
• Create and teach lessons using adapted physical education techniques to improve fitness, motor skills, and activity participation.
• Prepare lessons aligned with IEPs and individual student needs.
• Adapt instruction to age and skill level, providing positive feedback and fostering enjoyment of physical education.
• Maintain a safe, orderly PE environment and manage equipment inventories.
