Job summary

The Women’s Center Of East Texas is seeking a general production floater in Longview, TX. This part-time position assists the production staff with daily tasks as directed by the Production Supervisor and supports donor services.

Responsibilities include cleaning, boxing, shelving, lifting up to 40 pounds, and promoting courteous, helpful service in the donation and production areas. The role requires flexibility and adherence to agency policies, with duties assigned by a supervisor.

Qualifications

• Respond to telephones, written correspondence, and other auditory and visual stimulation.
• Remain calm under stress and have the emotional and physical stamina to deal with a variety of stressful situations.
• Frequently sit, stand, bend, kneel, and walk.
• Frequently lift and carry items of at least 40 pounds.
• Occasionally climb stairs or inclined surfaces.
• Occasionally work outside during night hours and/or inclement weather.
• Adherence to the Philosophy of Women’s Center of East Texas: compassion, caring and respect for others, confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Clean items to prepare for pricing.
• Wrap up seasonal items in boxes for storage to prevent breakage.
• Bundle hangers to be sold and for store use.
• Assist with bagging up salvage goods.
• Lift and carry out salvage to container.
• Carry out seasonal boxes to container.
• Clean and bag bulk items that will be sold (upon supervisor’s request).
• Take trash out to trash container and boxes to recycling bins.
• Promote friendly and helpful customer service and donor care. Assist donors as they arrive by bringing in donations, e.g. boxes, bags, furniture, etc.
• Clean and move furniture to sales floor.
• Capable of using work equipment such as broom, mop, vacuum, furniture dolly, etc.
• Keep a well-maintained and clean work area in production room as directed by Production Supervisor.
• Promote friendly and helpful service in production area.
• Always follow all policies and procedures.
• All other duties as instructed by the Production Supervisor.
