Qualifications

• 48 undergraduate college credits or equivalent.
• Pass required: ParaPro assessment (464) or WorkKeys.
• Non-violent crisis intervention training preferred.
• Experience supporting students with special needs preferred.
• Ability to speak Albanian, Arabic, Nepali, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese or an African language, and/or ASL.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher by reviewing, correcting and reinforcing lessons with individuals or small groups.
• Prepare and inventory instructional materials; set up and maintain classroom aids and equipment.
• Support student physical and personal care needs as required.
• Supervise meals and activity periods; maintain clean work areas.
• Assist with attendance, filing and organization of instructional materials.
• Contribute to weekly and long-range planning with the teacher.
