Job summary

Worcester Public Schools is seeking a Paraeducator (Alternative Programs) to support the Clark Street School students in Worcester, MA. You will assist teachers, reinforce lessons and help implement IEP/504 plans, while maintaining confidentiality and a supportive classroom environment.

The position requires 48 undergraduate credits or ParaPro/WorkKeys, with preferred crisis intervention training and experience with students with special needs.

Qualifications

• MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 48 undergraduate college credits or ParaPro/WorkKeys passing score.
• Preferred: Non-violent crisis intervention trained; experience supporting students with special needs.
• Ability to speak multiple languages and ASL is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher by reviewing, correcting and reinforcing lessons for groups and individuals.
• Prepare and inventory instructional materials and operate classroom learning aids.
• Support student personal care needs and supervise meals and activities.
• Maintain attendance and organize instructional materials; assist with communications.
• Participate in planning and follow district rules and testing protocols.
