Job summary

Worcester Public Schools is seeking a Paraeducator (Culture and Climate) for Worcester Technical High School in Worcester, MA. The role supports a positive school culture, ensures safety of students, staff and visitors, and engages with the school community to maintain a respectful environment.

The position follows a 180‑day school year, 6‑hour workday with 30‑minute lunch, and a salary between $35,280 and $42,416 per year.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or the equivalent.
• Experience working with high school students.

Responsibilities

• Operate a two-way radio, respond to radio summons/calls, and provide clear and concise verbal reports of incidents.
• Maintain a highly visible presence to maintain and encourage positive conduct.
• Identify potential issues and work to maintain control in a respectful culturally responsive behaviors or approach.
• Secure interior and exterior campus areas, lockers, and classrooms as needed.
• Monitor and support all building visitors.
• Enforce school regulations including, but not limited to, smoking, truancy, tardiness, and vandalism.
• Serve on the school’s school safety team.
• Complete non-violent crisis intervention training (CPI) within the first 1 year of employment.
• Attend and participate in training and meetings led by the Principal and or District supervisor.
