Job summary

Kern High School District is seeking a paraeducator to support certificated teachers in instruction and supervision of students in a high school setting.

Responsibilities include assisting physically handicapped students with feeding and toileting, organizing materials, and aiding in lesson plan development while maintaining accurate records and providing feedback on student progress.

Qualifications

• Completion of the twelfth grade; college coursework preferred.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions independently.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment and maintain records.
• Ability to interact with high school students and supervise activities.
• May require speaking/reading/writing a foreign language.

Responsibilities

• Assist physically handicapped students with feeding and toileting needs.
• Supervise students to maintain an effective learning environment and organize activities.
• Assist in developing lesson plans and convey progress to certificated staff.
• Escort students to transportation and supervise on field trips as needed.
• Prepare instructional materials and maintain relevant records.
