Job summary

Heritage Elementary School is seeking an Instructional Assistant - Special Education Adaptive to support instructional objectives and student development. The role focuses on paraprofessional collaboration with teachers, assisting with individual and small-group activities, and reinforcing learning through guided practice.

Responsibilities include supervising students during meals, recess, and transitions, assisting with routines, and helping maintain classroom order.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 60 credit hours from an accredited post-secondary institution or an Associate’s Degree, or successful ParaPro.
• Prior experience working with children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher with duties as assigned and specialized tasks to support instructional objectives.
• Work with individuals or small groups to reinforce learning objectives introduced by the teacher.
• Provide programmed practice activities and repetitions as developed by the teacher.
• Assist with large and small group activities and supervise students during unstructured times.
