Job summary

Craig Hospital in Englewood, CO is seeking a Rehabilitation Engineer I to design, develop, modify and apply rehabilitative devices and assistive technology to help patients gain independence. This role works with clinicians on mobility, posture, driving and daily living equipment using engineering principles for safety and comfort.

Essential duties include generating specifications, building and testing solutions with patients, and educating users.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field is required.
• 1-3 years experience in medical device, adaptive equipment or product design.
• Experience in rehabilitation, biomedical or biomechanical fields preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor required.

Responsibilities

• Generate project specifications and requirements for adaptive equipment.
• Design, build and test solutions with patients and educate on use.
• Modify and install commercial adaptive equipment following instructions.
• Track costs and time for activities and assist with billing.
• Perform diagnostics/maintenance and document procedures.
