Chesterfield County Public Schools is seeking a Teacher for Special Education with adapted curriculum to maximize learning for students with special needs. You will work within district-approved curricula, document progress, and coordinate with parents and professionals to support IEP goals.

The role involves conducting assessments, developing IEPs, implementing behavior plans, and collaborating with administrators, staff, and external agencies to provide comprehensive services.

Formación

• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accepted institution.
• Possession of the requirements for the applicable teacher license.
• Applicants considered for employment must successfully complete FBI, State Police, CPS background investigations and tuberculosis screening.

Responsabilidades

• Conducts assessments, testing and diagnostic examinations of students for identifying learning issues and recommending courses of action to maximize learning.
• Participates in PPTs and assists in developing Individual Educational Plans (IEP) for students.
• Assists students and teaching staff in implementing IEPs and behavior management plans.
• Coordinates with outside agencies and administrators to ascertain individual student abilities and needs, including students with special needs, and to familiarize stakeholders with social work services.
• Provides counseling to students and parents to promote personal growth and behavioral management; serves as liaison between home and school.
