Job summary

Havre Public Schools Education Foundation seeks an assistant to support certified staff in the classroom, reinforcing reading, math, and language arts, and assisting with instructional programs. The position also includes non-instructional duties such as lunch/bus supervision, field trips, and materials preparation, with opportunities to participate in IEP processes as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with special needs students desirable.
• Ability to follow instructions and support instructional goals.

Responsibilities

• Assists and guides students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction, and other skills.
• Works with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning and implement assigned programs.
• Assists professional staff in the administration and correction of classroom exercises, tests and assessments.
• Assists in classroom preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials and skills according to individual student needs.
• Assists with record-keeping procedures to document student learning and performance.
• Assists with classroom behavioral management to minimize disruptions and keep students on task.
• Accompanies students on field trips for supervision.
• Constructs and distributes educational materials as needed.
• Assists students with special needs in all aspects of classroom instruction to maximize inclusion and achievement.
