Job summary

Havre Public Schools is seeking a Substitute/ Substitute Teacher to support certified staff and students across district classrooms. You will help reinforce reading, math, language arts, and computer instruction under supervision, and contribute to classroom activities and assessments.

The role includes assisting in field trips, maintaining records, and supporting students with special needs to maximize inclusion and learning outcomes. Adherence to safety standards is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• College coursework or passing examination required by NCLB Act.
• Prior experience working with students with special needs desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, and computer instruction.
• Work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist in administration and correction of classroom exercises and assessments.
• Support instructional materials and strategies per individual student needs.
• Maintain records documenting student learning and performance.
• Assist with classroom behavioral management to maintain a safe, orderly environment.
• Supervise students in non-instructional areas (lunch, bus, playground, study hall).
• Accompany students on field trips for supervision.
• Assist students with special needs to maximize inclusion.
• Participate in IEP processes as needed.
• Follow safety rules and procedures for all students.
