Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have 48 college hours or high school diploma plus district assessment.
• Educational Aide Certification is required.
• Ability to work with children using appropriate interpersonal skills.
• Background related to working with children and parents.
• Physical capacity to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Fluent in English (speaking and writing).

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Texas Education Agency and district policies.
• Assist in carrying out the instructional program under supervision of licensed staff.
• Assist in preparation, use and maintenance of instructional materials and equipment.
• Assist with teacher planned activities, exercises and drills.
• Maintain student records and audit folders.
• Help students with self-care activities such as feeding and toileting.
• Participate in planned inservice and professional growth activities.
• Follow teacher instruction and guidance.
• Perform other duties as required and travel to sites if assigned.
