Qualifications

• Requires 48 college coursework hours from an accredited college or university.
• Must pass Spring ISD's NCLB tests in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics.
• Preferred: 1+ year experience with children with disabilities.
• Preferred: Associate’s Degree or higher from an accredited college.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in preparation of instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist in maintaining a neat and orderly classroom.
• Assist teacher in preparing/maintaining records/reports required by laws/regulations.
• Assist students with physical disabilities including transfers and lifting as needed.
• Assist students with personal care and hygiene.
• Assist in crisis intervention and behavior management as needed.
• Support small groups to develop motor skills.
• Supervise students during the school day and report needs to the teacher.
