Job summary

The YMCA of South Palm Beach County seeks an Outreach Aquatic Coordinator in Boynton Beach, FL to oversee daily operations of the Outreach Water Safety program. You’ll supervise lifeguards and swim instructors, coordinate adaptive swim and outreach activities, and ensure safety and quality across all programs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred in recreation or related field.
• Current lifeguard certification with CPR/First Aid/AED.
• WSI or YMCA Swim Instructor certification is required or obtained within one year of hire.
• 1-2 years aquatic supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of Outreach Water Safety and supervise lifeguards and swim instructors.
• Coordinate adaptive swim programming for participants with disabilities; recruit/train staff.
• Maintain participant records, progress, attendance, and reporting; ensure safety compliance.
• Coordinate community outreach swim lessons with schools and nonprofits; track participation.
• Assist in grants documentation and data collection; represent YMCA at community events.
• Recruit, interview, onboard, and coach staff; ensure certifications are kept up to date.
