Job summary

The YMCA of Central Florida is seeking an Aquatics Coordinator to support the Aquatics Director in supervising staff and programming at the Family Center. You will help develop and execute aquatics programs, aiming to boost member participation and deliver outstanding customer service to members.

You will lead staff, coordinate lifeguard coverage, manage schedules, ensure safety protocols, and collaborate with other leaders to advance enrollment and retention of members.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1–3 years’ aquatics or customer service experience required.
• YMCA aquatics/operations experience is a plus.
• Microsoft Office proficiency required.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications current.
• Lifeguard certification current (YMCA preferred; Red Cross acceptable with YMCA conversion within 60 days).
• YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor certification current within 60 days.
• Pool Operator certification current.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing aquatic programs including lap swimming, lessons, team, and group exercise.
• Support member retention by delivering engaging classes.
• Supervise staff and enforce safety and policies.
• Lead staff to achieve retention goals for aquatic initiatives.
• Provide lifeguard duties and swim instruction as scheduled.
• Maintain accurate schedules and coordinate pool maintenance.
• Collaborate to maximize program enrollments and pool usage.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Assist in planning aquatic events and promote activities.
