Job summary

City of Somerville is seeking a skilled ADA/EEO administrator to manage citywide programs and investigations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws. The role collaborates with the Commission for Persons with Disabilities and multiple city departments to advance accessibility and equity.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of relevant experience, with a Master’s preferred, in a dynamic urban governance environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to conduct thorough, objective integrity investigations under ADA and EEO frameworks.
• Excellent report writing and documentation skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication with diverse stakeholders and leaders in a municipal setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead citywide ADA compliance initiatives and oversee ADA Transition Plan implementation.
• Investigate and resolve ADA/EEO complaints with impartial findings and recommendations.
• Support Commission for Persons with Disabilities and coordinate meetings and reports.
• Develop relationships with disability advocacy groups and external agencies.
• Provide staff guidance on accommodations and accessibility policies.
• Advise HR on ADA/EEO employment matters and compliance.
• Deliver ADA/EEO trainings and educational programs for staff and stakeholders.
• Monitor evolving laws and propose policy changes as needed.
