Job summary

GBMC HealthCare is seeking a dedicated patient care assistant to support physical therapy services under direct supervision. You will assist in gait training, functional activities, and equipment setup, while monitoring vitals and patient responses.

Strong communication and organizational abilities are essential for safe, efficient care. The role includes room preparation, patient transport, and basic EMR tasks, with opportunities to train in medical terminology and DME handling.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Healthcare experience preferred (3 months).
• BLS CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with gait and ambulation under supervision of a therapist.
• Perform routine follow-up of specific exercises.
• Prepare room and equipment; transport patients to treatment areas.
• Take patient vitals and monitor status.
• Provide administrative support (notify units, audits, calls, filing).
