Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations for patients with acute medical conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, and independence.
• Deliver manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, gait training and patient education.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and other clinicians to coordinate care.
• Document progress in the EMR according to BayCare standards.
• Participate in discharge planning and educate patients and families.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and state regulations.

Morton Plant Hospital , a nationally recognized leader in patient care and clinical innovation, is seeking skilled and compassionate Acute Physical Therapists to join our inpatient rehabilitation team. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, evidence-based physical therapy services to patients in an acute hospital setting, supporting recovery from surgery, injury, or illness.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations for patients with acute medical conditions.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, and functional independence (ADL’s).

• Deliver therapeutic interventions including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, gait training, and patient education.

• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals to coordinate care and optimize outcomes.

• Document patient progress and treatment in the electronic medical record system in accordance with BayCare standards.

• Participate in discharge planning and provide education to patients and families.

• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and state regulations.

Qualifications

• Doctorate or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.

• Current Florida Physical Therapist license.

• BLS certification required.

• Acute care experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical rotations in acute settings are welcome.

• Excellent communication, clinical reasoning, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with neurological, orthopedic, or cardiopulmonary patient populations.
