Job summary

BayCare Health System's Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, FL is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our acute care team. The role focuses on evaluating and treating patients with physical, cognitive, and psychosocial impairments arising from illness, injury, or surgery, to restore independence and support safe discharge.

Qualifications

• BLS and OT licensure/eligibility required.
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy required.
• 1 year Occupational Therapy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients’ functional abilities and limitations.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve ADLs, mobility, and safety.
• Provide neuromuscular re-education, therapeutic exercise, and adaptive equipment training.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and case managers.
• Document patient progress and treatment outcomes in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
• Educate patients and caregivers on techniques to improve independence and safety at home.
• Participate in discharge planning and recommend appropriate follow-up services.

This role focuses on evaluating and treating patients with physical, cognitive, and psychosocial impairments resulting from illness, injury, or surgery. The therapist will work in a fast-paced hospital environment, helping patients regain independence in daily living activities and facilitating safe discharge planning.

Acute Care Occupational Therapist Responsibilities:

• OT (Occupational Therapy)
• Or OT (Occupational Therapy) Eligible to obtain
• Required Bachelor's Occupational Therapy
• Preferred 1-year Occupational Therapy

Shift Hours: Variable, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. or 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m./Days
