Job summary

UC San Diego Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) seeks a clinical case manager to provide trauma‑informed mental health care for a diverse student population. The role supports students at varying acuity and collaborates with campus teams to coordinate care and resources.

Under supervision, you will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and help with crisis management, discharge planning, and referral navigation.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in area related mental health field or equivalent experience.
• Licensed in a Behavioral Health Counseling discipline. CA license application in process at offer if licensed out of state.
• Five (5) or more years of licensed relevant experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification by start date.
• Advanced knowledge of clinical counseling principles and trauma‑informed care.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention, safety assessment and planning for students.
• Develop discharge plans and coordinate resources across levels of care.
• Navigate benefits and coordinate with CAPS mental health referral system.
• Collaborate with stakeholders in campus and San Diego community.
• Co-facilitate or cover Triton Lighthouse therapy groups as needed.
• Utilize trauma‑informed practices to deliver high-quality mental health care.
