Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a dialysis technician to join our dedicated healthcare team in Georgia. You will provide safe and effective hemodialysis therapy, monitor patient response, and document treatment data under RN supervision.

This role requires CCHT certification and hands-on dialysis experience. The candidate will contribute to quality improvement initiatives, maintain a clean environment, and assist with vascular access assessments and patient comfort throughout the treatment process.

Qualifications

• CCHT certification is required.

• 1-2 years' related experience.
• Ability to stand for long periods and assist with patient mobilization.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective dialysis therapy for assigned patients.
• Care for patients under direct supervision of an FMCNA RN or in an adjacent treatment room.
• Document new or unusual incidents, patient findings, and treatment details.
• Promote a safe, clean working environment.
• Support QEP, QAI, patient satisfaction, and process improvement activities.
• Manage vascular access assessment and report unusual findings.
• Record vital signs, weights, and treatment parameters accurately.
• Initiate and discontinue dialysis per prescribed orders.

Job description

• Provide safe and effective dialysis therapy for assigned patients as part of the hemodialysis healthcare team
• Provide patient care under the direct visual supervision of an FMCNA Registered Nurse or in an adjacent treatment room
• Report and document new or unusual incidents, information, complaints, problems, and patient findings to the RN
• Promote and assist in maintaining a safe and clean working environment
• Support Quality Enhancement Program (QEP), Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAI), patient satisfaction, and process improvement activities
• Promote and assist in meeting Total Area Productivity goals
• Set up and prime equipment for renal replacement therapies when competency and proficiency are documented
• Welcome patients and inquire about their well-being
• Evaluate vascular access and report unusual findings
• Obtain and record pre- and post-treatment vital signs and weights
• Perform vascular access cannulation
• Calculate and enter dialysis machine programming parameters, including ultrafiltration goal, treatment time, sodium modeling, and ultrafiltration modeling
• Ensure appropriate safety alarms are enabled
• Record vital signs and treatment parameters accurately and timely on the Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet
• Initiate renal replacement treatment according to prescribed orders
• Collect, label, and deliver specimens to the laboratory
• Evaluate intradialytic problems, provide prescribed interventions, and monitor patient response
• Discontinue dialysis treatment according to established procedures
• Obtain hemostasis, apply dressings, evaluate patients before discharge, and document treatment evaluations
• Perform other duties as required

Requirements

• Must have CCHT certification
• Must have 18 months of dialysis experience
• High School Diploma required
• 1-2 years' related experience
• Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Certification (CCHT) certification
• Ability to perform frequent, prolonged periods of standing and bend over
• Ability to lift and move patients and assist with ambulation
• Ability to occasionally assist in moving machines and equipment up to 200 lbs.
• Ability to lift chemical and water solutions up to 30 lbs. as high as 5 feet
• Ability to travel between assigned facilities and various locations within the community
• Ability to work in a healthcare facility environment and exposure to infectious and contagious diseases/materials
