Job summary

Banner Health is seeking an HIMS Technician Acute at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, AZ to manage confidential electronic health records with a focus on document imaging and quality checks. You will index documents into the EHR, perform routine releases of health information, and assist with portal enrollment and basic transcription tasks.

The role requires attention to detail, the ability to multitask, and familiarity with EHR systems.

Qualifications

Requires knowledge of health information practices and medical records systems.
Ability to communicate effectively, organize tasks, and solve problems.
Experience with EHR tools and medical records management is preferred.

Responsibilities

Conduct routine releases of health information per policy and law.
Review health information using EHR tools for provider completion and deficiencies.
Provide customer service to patients, vendors, and staff in person or remotely.
Imaging: scanning, quality control, and EHR uploads.
Review scanned documents to maintain EMR integrity.
Assist with transcription issues and portal enrollment.
Support training for Dragon/voice recognition and other HIMS duties.
Work under supervision with defined processes and regulatory knowledge.
