Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Staff Nurse for the Physician Group to deliver exemplary nursing care to acutely ill patients. You will perform assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care while coordinating with the health care team and addressing patient/family education and discharge planning.

This role requires state RN licensure, CPR/BLS certification, and current nursing experience or recent graduate status.

Qualifications

• Current experience (within past five years) or new nursing graduate (within past two years).
• State Licensed Registered Nurse for State of employment.
• CPR - Basic Life Support.

Responsibilities

• Performs all aspects of patient care by utilizing evidenced based practice to optimize patient safety.
• Follows the six medication rights and administers medications based on patient age/condition.
• Assesses and plans individualized care including discharge planning.
• Educates patient and family and documents responses to teaching.
• Identifies learning needs, coping mechanisms, and barriers to learning.
• Participates in quality improvement activities and governance.
