Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Staff Nurse to deliver age-appropriate, evidence-based nursing care from admission to discharge. You will collaborate with the care team to develop and evaluate plans of care, document patient responses, and educate patients and families throughout the hospital stay.

The role requires a BSN and an active Illinois RN license, along with BLS and timely ACLS/PALS/ENPC/TNCC where applicable.

Qualifications

• BSN degree required.
• Current IL Registered Nurse license.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
• Strong analytic abilities.
• ER/Pediatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and record patient status upon admission/point of care entry.
• Organize assessment data so it is accurate, complete and accessible.
• Identify problems needing immediate attention.
• Document diagnoses and plan of care to guide outcomes.
• Initiate discharge planning and involve patient/family.
• Provide patient/family education based on evidence-based practice.
