Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Staff Nurse for the Physician Group to provide expert nursing care to acutely ill patients, coordinating care and supporting the care team. The role includes phone triage, education, and documentation in line with ANA standards and organizational policies.

Responsibilities cover assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation, with emphasis on safety, learning needs, and discharge planning while engaging patients and families in the care plan.

Qualifications

• Current experience (within past five years) or new nursing graduate (within past two years).
• State Licensed Registered Nurse for State of employment.
• CPR – Basic Life Support.

Responsibilities

• Performs all aspects of patient care using evidence-based practice to optimize safety.
• Administers medications with attention to age and clinical condition.
• Develops and updates an individualized plan of care with education and discharge planning.
• Educates patients and families and documents responses to teaching.
• Participates in quality improvement activities and committee work.
