Stormont Vail Health in Topeka, KS is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide comprehensive evaluation of cognitive communication and swallowing function in acute care patients, and to deliver goal-oriented treatment.

The role requires ASHA CCC-SLP, KS licensure, and BLS within 90 days; collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, supervise CFY candidates, educate patients/families, and participate in clinical training.

Qualifications

• CCC-SLP credential required or in process
• Speech-language pathology licensure required
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire

Responsabilités

• Provide comprehensive evaluation of cognitive and/or communication skills and swallowing function with goal-oriented treatment
• Review physician referral and patient records to determine treatment needs
• Plan and prepare written treatment program based on evaluation data and adjust as needed
• Consult with healthcare team to coordinate medical interventions
• Record treatment response in patient chart and computer systems
• Instruct patient and family in home program; provide supervision and mentoring to students
• Gather materials for therapy and maintain supplies
• Plan and conduct lectures/trainings on speech, language, and dysphagia for staff and community
• Complete department and hospital competencies/education requirements
• Supervise CFY candidates and graduate field work students
