Job summary

MercyOne Trinity Health is seeking a dedicated Acute Care Registered Nurse for a full-time 12-hour day shift in Des Moines, IA. You will provide and direct safe, effective care for patients with acute medical and surgical conditions, while aligning with our mission and core values.

Responsibilities include initial assessments, developing outcome-based care plans, coordinating with the care team, and ensuring thorough discharge planning. Licensure, BLS, and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required.
• BSN preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license, (Illinois license if working in IL) required.
• American Heart Association BLS required.
• ACLS required only if telemetry monitoring capabilities.
• Mandatory Reporter training within three months of hire.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Conducts an initial assessment to gather data.
• Identifies patient problems and develops outcome-based care plans.
• Implements and coordinates care with the interdisciplinary team.
• Evaluates progress and revises care plans.
• Maintains clear, comprehensive documentation and communication within the team.
• Demonstrates competency in cardiac monitoring when telemetry is used.
