Job summary

MercyOne Trinity Health is seeking an Acute Care RN for a full-time 12-hour day shift. You will provide safe, culturally competent care for patients with acute medical and surgical conditions, coordinating with nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities include initial assessment within 30 minutes, developing and implementing care plans, documenting progress, and communicating with physicians, patients, and families.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing is required.
• BSN preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license (Illinois license if working in IL) required.
• AHA BLS required.
• ACLS required only if telemetry monitoring capabilities.
• Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire.
• High language, intermediate to high math, high critical thinking ability. Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Conducts an initial assessment to gather data.
• Identifies patient problems and develops an outcome/goal-based plan of care.
• Implements the outcome/goal-based plan of care.
• Evaluates patient progress and revises the plan as needed.
• Communicates relevant clinical information to the team to optimize patient outcomes.
• Maintains safety, infection control and colleague health policies and procedures.
• Maintains telemetry and cardiac monitoring as applicable.
• Provides age-appropriate care and documentation.
