Job summary

MercyOne Trinity Health in Iowa seeks an Acute Care RN to provide safe, effective, and culturally competent care for patients with acute medical and surgical conditions, using evidence-based practice and critical thinking.

You will supervise licensed and assistive staff, coordinate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team, support discharge planning, and maintain complete, accurate documentation for diverse patient populations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing is required.
• BSN degree is preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license is required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS only if unit has telemetry.
• Mandatory Reporter training within three months of hire.
• Strong language, math, critical thinking and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Conducts an initial assessment to gather data.
• Makes an initial assessment of new admissions within 30 minutes of arrival.
• Develops an outcome/goal-based plan of care with the patient.
• Coordinates care with Case Manager, Social Worker and other disciplines.
• Discharges planning and patient/family education; maintains documentation.
