Job summary

MercyOne Elkader Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the full-time night shift. You will provide safe, evidence-based care for acute medical and surgical patients, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team in a small-town hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required.
• BSN preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license.
• American Heart Association BLS required.
• ACLS required only if telemetry monitoring is used.
• Completion of Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide and direct safe, effective, and culturally competent nursing care.
• Perform initial assessments and ongoing patient reassessment every 24 hours.
• Develop and implement outcomes-based plans of care with the care team.
• Coordinate care with case managers, social workers and physicians.
• Discharge planning and education to patients and families.
• Maintain complete, accurate documentation and adhere to safety policies.
