Job summary

South Texas Health System Edinburg is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to manage patients admitted for medical conditions or surgical procedures. The RN will provide leadership, assess, plan, guide and evaluate nursing care in alignment with facility policies and patient-centered care.

The role requires interaction with the healthcare team, adherence to compliance, and flexibility to work weekends/holidays/shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse licensed in Texas or compact state; temporary license acceptable while awaiting permanent license.
• Associate, Baccalaureate or Diploma in Nursing.
• BLS certification required.
• Current ARC/AHA certifications as unit needs (ACLS if required).

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, competent nursing care per facility policies, standards and philosophy.
• Provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team.
• Oversee and guide nursing staff under your supervision.
• Coordinate with hospital staff and ancillary departments to resolve patient care concerns.
• May require weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, and/or on-call status.
• Demonstrate Service Excellence in all interactions.
