Job summary

South Texas Health System in Texas seeks a Registered Nurse to manage care for patients admitted or seen for medical conditions or surgical procedures. The RN provides safe, competent nursing care and professional leadership to the healthcare team, guided by the Patient Centered Care model.

The role requires compliance with policies, and weekend/holiday/on-call work may be needed. Current Texas RN license, BLS, and applicable certifications are required; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• RN licensed in Texas (or compact state)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS/CPRS certifications as unit needs (ARC/AHA programs)
• New graduates may provide documentation from RN program to validate completion of nursing requirements

Responsibilities

• Manage patients admitted or seen for medical conditions or surgical procedures
• Provide safe, competent nursing care per facility standards
• Provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team
• Coordinate with hospital staff and ancillary departments regarding patient care and issues
• Possibly work weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, and/or on-call/call-back status
• Demonstrate Service Excellence at all times
