Job summary

GBMC is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support physical therapy services under direct supervision. You will prepare patients and equipment, observe treatments, and report status changes to therapists.

You will assist with gait, transfers, functional activities, and prep of treatment spaces, while maintaining infection control and accurate documentation. Strong communication and time-management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Healthcare experience preferred (3 months).
• Current BLS CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Gait and ambulation assistance under supervision.
• Transfers and functional activities support.
• Prep of patient room and treatment spaces; post-treatment cleaning and restocking.
• Take patient vitals and report changes to therapist.
• Assist with transporting patients to/from treatment areas.
• Assist with personal hygiene and ADL tasks.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment; observe infection control standards.
