Job summary

Qualifications

• Possession of or eligibility for a license to practice as a registered nurse in New York State.
• Preferred: BSN and at least one year of hospital acute care experience.
• Only licensed nurse experience in an acute care facility will be counted toward RN1 experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient’s condition and nursing needs and coordinate care with other health disciplines.
• Develop a written individualized care plan including teaching needs and discharge planning.
• Administer direct care when nursing skills and judgment are needed.
• Administer medications as prescribed and monitor effects.
• Practice infection control and maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to the RN/Clinician and document care.
• Maintain current written plan of care and set goals with patient/family.
• Provide documented patient/family teaching and ensure alignment with physician directions.
• Collaborate with staff and departments to support patient care.
• Participate in unit/hospital QA activities to advance nursing practice.
